Who We Are - Why We're Excited About Quality Meat!
Troy Crippen, owner and primary operator of Crippen’s Processing, grew up with a knife in his hand. He started practicing the skill of butchering and meat processing with his father Bill Crippen at the young age of 8. Bill managed G & C Packing in Colorado Springs for many years, in which he hired his young son Troy at the age of 14. After Troy & Bill’s combined service of over 55 years to G & C, they decided to pursue their own venture.
Throughout Troy’s career of meat processing, he’s been disappointed in several facets of Meat Processing; customer service, cleanliness, and the poor reputation meat cutters had been given in the past. Troy took these factors to a new level, met the challenge and has revamped the skills and service of meat processing.
Troy worked years saving money, equipment and knowledge to fulfill his dream of opening his own Meat Processing business. In February 2012, with the help of Troy’s father, Bill Crippen, Crippen’s Processing was incepted. Crippen’s Processing has been a “breath of fresh air” for those hunters and ranchers who can trust the meat that they drop off is the same meat they receive. Troy is very diligent in making sure all customer cutting instructions are exactly what they want. Troy & Bill pride themselves with the best customer service and uphold their credible family values with each and every customer. Troy was told by the Deptment of Agriculture, they have never inspected such a clean facility. Troy’s quote “cleanliness in a meat shop is next to Godliness, it’s simply a must.”
Troy & Bill have perfected the family recipes creating the best Jerky, Snack Sticks (jalapeno or regular) and summer Sausage (Chorizo, Breakfast, Bratwurst or Italian) in the West!
